The Academy of Equine Dentistry is located in Glenns Ferry, Idaho.
Our main purpose is to help horses by teaching the proper procedures of
equine dentistry, thereby helping equestrians obtain top performance in
their equine endeavors. We have compiled this packet to explain
equine dental courses and other information pertaining to the dental school.
We enjoy serving you and look forward to your attendance at the Academy.
During the past 27 years our school has helped over a 1,000 men and women
define the art and science of equine dentistry, giving them greater understanding
of the horse's general physical needs through care and maintenance of its teeth.
Equine dental equilibration and care is a specialized field based on the needs of
the horse, its activities and uses and the needs of the riders, owners and trainers.
The life of equine teeth can be lengthened five to ten years through early,
proper continued dental care and equilibration.
Of the approximately 122,000,000 horses, mules and donkeys in the world today, many
receive little or no dental maintenance. If their teeth were maintained on a regular
basis, the food savings would be astronomical. Because the horse, mule and donkey can
provide for our livelihood and various forms of recreation, we need to be aware of our
responsibility as owners. A large number of farm and ranch accidents unfortunately do
involve horses. Many of these accidents are caused by a combination of inexperienced
horse handlers and horses with problem teeth that cause excruciating pain.

education is at the heart of our program. Today, course participants may attend
three levels of practical course work. Our mission is to help the horse through interested, educated and properly
trained people, using the highest quality instruments available in the world
today. We listen to your needs, as well as the horse's needs, and do our best
to fill them. Participating in our courses can help you build your foundation
