PRACTICAL AND EDUCATIONAL LEVELS OF ACHIEVEMENT

The Academy of Equine Dentistry provides a grading system for the practical aspects of Equine Dentistry. The purpose of this program is to provide students with achievable goals. These goals advance professionalism in the Equine Dental Practitioner. Essentially, GOOD dentistry is EDUCATED dentistry, which is the primary objective.

    Dental and Anatomy Courses offered by the Academy are:
      PG-1 Level dentistry courses (100 credits)
      PG-2 Level dentistry courses (100 credits)
      PG-3 Level dentistry courses (100 credits)
      A-150 Anatomy course (24 credits)

The steps through the system are shown below:

Students cannot attempt cerification in three consecutive classes. There must be one year between PG-1 and PG-3 attempting certification.

Requirements for all Practical Grades are outlined on the "CERTIFICATION" page.
    PG-1 is known as first level.

    PG-2 is known as second level.

    PG-3 is known as third level, continuing education or attempting first level certification, and when completed, "Certified Equine Dentist" (CEqD).

    PG-4 is known as advancing level, and when completed, "Advanced Certified Equine Dentist" (ACEqD).

    PG-5 is known as mastering level, and when completed, "Master Certified Equine Dentist" (MCEqD).
